ANXIETY DISORDER IN THE PREOPERATIVE PERIOD: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Abstract
Anxiety disorder is considered a public health problem. This literature review is used in the integrative modality, medline, LILACS, BDENF and INDEX PSICOLOGIA databases were accessed. They were found in 123 articles. The 26 selected articles addressed the signs and symptoms of anxiety, followed by the characterization of the participants according to age group. An evaluation scale was used to measure anxiety regarding various types of surgical procedures. From the analysis of these articles, three thematic categories emerged: Strategies implemented by the health team in the face of anxiety disorder, action strategies not implemented by the health team, but used in interventions and use of scales as a strategy for intervention. It is proposed that studies be conducted so that the care of surgical patients is more qualified, in the sense of minimizing anxiety in the preoperative moment and in the intra- and postoperative moments, so that there are fewer unsuccessful events and better biopsychosocial rehabilitation of patients considering health needs and integrality of care.
